About Mingxia

Dr. Mingxia Lu received the most intensive training in Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China. During the first five years of study for Bachelor’s degree in TCM, Mingxia learned all the basic knowledge covering both traditional Chinese medicine and modern western medicine. She had clinical internship in the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, gynecological, pediatric and emergency departments in the Teaching Hospital of Shandong TCM University. Since 1994 Mingxia began to use acupuncture and Chinese herbs to treat her patients’ various health problems. During the three years’ clinical study with Professor Naiming Chen, a national-level distinguished TCM expert in advanced acupuncture techniques, Mingxia got in-depth training in the domain of acupuncture techniques and in treatment of complicated diseases. Mingxia’s thesis for Master degree is about using acupuncture to treat women’s health problems. In 1998, Mingxia went on to Tianjin TCM University to pursue her doctorate degree. Her mentor is Professor Jingxian Han, who is also national-level distinguished TCM doctor, former Chairman of the Neurological Branch of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, and President of the First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin TCM University at that time. Under the mentorship of Prof. Han, Mingxia received further clinical training in the treatment of various neurological diseases with acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Her Ph.D. dissertation is on acupuncture treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. In 2003, Mingxia was conferred the professional title of Associate Chief Physician in TCM by Tianjin Public Health Bureau.
